621715 2007-12-16 06:50:00 I do absolutely.

I mean if it can potentially provide a better chance of life for somebody, than I’m all for it. I have no moral or ethical dilemmas with their research.

621716 2007-12-16 07:21:00 If it weren't for rabbits (or was it dogs?), we would not have insulin.
If it weren't for cows, smallpox would still be at critical levels.

I don't see anything wrong with embryos. After all, we eat them with bacon on toast in the morning. :2cents:

I agree. Good to see that people are voting yes.

I often wonder if the opponents to Stem Cell Research would feel the same if one of their nearest and dearest was stricken with a problem that could be cured by a process developed by SCR...

I didn't feel it needed to be private. If people are for or against SRC what do they have to hide?

621721 2007-12-16 08:49:00 Depends how the stem cells are obtained.

I'm against harming embryos for the sake of medical research.

621722 2007-12-16 08:59:00 Stem cells can now be obtained from skin, so the "don't harm embryos" folk now have a viable alternative and no excuse to complain  Erayd (23)

Medical Research that could enhance the quality of life of potentially thousands of people.

Like people who through spinal injuries have no feeling below the waist, not only can these people not walk but they can also suffer from incontinence. I was watching Attitude, was on Sundays on TV1. One guy said what he would give, just to be able to know when he needs to go to the toilet.

Now that would be terrible to live with. I really felt for this guy. This program is full of strong willed people, who are having to suffer through life with such heavy disadvantages, how can we deny them the potential of a better life.

I understand your point, but the way I see it an embryo, is not a human.
