621610 2007-12-16 00:39:00 Dear all,
The title has pretty much described what I am interested to know, any good suggestions out there? Let's assume that the office consists of only 15 or so people. There are no specified morning tea or lunch hour sessions for that company.

Cheers :)

(Both hands occupied with carrying 4 dozen beer.)

(What - they don't like beer? - - Take your beer and thank your lucky stars for escaping from this freak show.)

Just go and talk to them - I assume you're new, so just go and say hi, shake their hands, and have a quick chat.

Alternatively, get someone who you already know well at the company to introduce you to everyone.

621615 2007-12-16 06:46:00 Some people are extroverts, and can meet 15-20 people in 8 minutes.

And after those 8 minutes, can have three lunch appointments, a house-sitting job in Barbadoes, and three dates with the hot totties.

Assuming however, you are like the rest of us, meet people slowly, and let word get around about the "new guy".

Start with the people you NEED to know, then work around to the people you SHOULD know.

It's obviously a small office, so let the grapevine do some of the work for you.

"Reserve adds weight to the personality".

Hold a bit back so as to seem a man of mystery, this works well with the ladies as well.

621618 2007-12-16 10:47:00 make a point to remember co-worker names and start conversation - you'll soon get to know everyone reasonably well within a few months

got nothing to talk about? go watch the news and see what the latest story is, ask what they are doing/have done on the weekend/holidays, play the "have you seen -insert good and recent movie or popular tv show here that you have watched-?" card

621619 2007-12-16 19:27:00 Put your best undies on and streamers on your arms and legs and run hrough work pretending to be the 'ultimate warrior'! and beat your chest like an ape while singing the beatles 'Twist and shout'.

That should let everyone know you before smoko time comes around.
