2007-12-14 09:46:00 | What does everyone do for a tree at Christmas? And why? I'm a real tree afficionado, but never buy from the side of the road. We (as a family) always go to a tree farm and choose a suitable tree about a month to six weeks out, then return and harvest it a week or so before The Day (this year, that's tomorrow - Saturday). Love the smell of the pine...

2007-12-14 18:23:00 | We have got a few real ones growing on our sections, they are the perfect size, but I think we are just going to stick with fake... They put up a fake one at work yesterday...

2007-12-14 18:30:00 | Fake. Bought TWO from the Warehouse and combined them into one tree so that it looks more realistic. A real tree would be nice but expensive year by year, time consuming, needles drop, have to get a good base with water, roof rack for car...

2007-12-14 18:39:00 | None. OK, they're only pine trees but I think its a bit off to kill a tree just to hang tinsel on it for a short time.

2007-12-14 18:43:00 | Ours is a REAL fake tree!! In the past we had a real tree, at that time we had no problems choosing one and disposal after wasn't a concern. The fake ones then were not so realistic and cost an an arm and a leg. The kids and I would beat up lux flakes with a little water and apply to resemble snow, (Now I am showing my age) as the spray on 'snow' wasn't around in New Zealand then. The house smelt clean and piney! Cheers, Marnie
