621705 2007-12-17 05:30:00 I have had one Motorola phone and two Nokia.
The motorola I could not buy a replacement battery for.

First Nokia had a prepay (025) number. It did not fail but I changed to get an (027) number.

My current Nokia does not have all the features the friend wants but I already have a digital camera.

621707 2007-12-19 00:36:00 True - Nokia are pretty solid phones with generally easy navigational features, but I have found them to have limited features compared with others at similar prices. Motorola and others have more features, but at times the navigations can be a bit more embedded. Look at mobile burn (http://www.mobileburn.com/), a comprehensive review site - which sometimes lists upcoming phones... kahawai chaser (3545)

 The SE k800i would be my choice also. Compare the specs on GSMarena. The camera beats Nokia in the same price range.

I actually disagree with that

Both nokia and sony ericsson has more features than motorola

You cannot install say a web browser like opera onto motorola mobiles and browse flash websites. All motorola has is java

You cant make conference calls using motorola

There aren't much application available for motorola

There isnt a2dp profile for motorola mobiles

I hate the navigation of motorola mobiles. Its very annoying

If someone bought me a motorola mobile phone I would quickily sell it.lol

Even the camera quality of motorola isnt that good

Actually i think motorola isn't doing so well either.Model after each the specification is the same. When it was first release it made everyone wow because of its design but nowadays when you see another motorola mobile you'll be like just another Motorola RAZR V3.The motorola RAZR2 V9 is more or less the same as Motorola K3 either than the fact that... I don't think there is any

At least Nokia has updated its operating system symbian on their current mobile.Added Wifi, better camera quality.3D Graphics. The camera flash is now Xenon not led.

Sony Ericsson also has started making a touch screen but not a fully touch screen mobile like the w960i and add nice features to their mobiles such as s500i and w580i where the side of the mobile will flash different colors. The shake feature found in w580i and k850i where you can hold a button and literally shake the mobile to skip mobiles

All other manufactures are doing well as well and are way ahead of motorola

Nokia and Sony Ericsson nowadays have at least 3.2 megapixel camera and has developed Nokia N82 and K850i which both have 5 megapixel.N95 8Gb having GPS and with the latest n82 model the next generation of N73 you can use google maps. Most mobiles now are capable of displaying 16.5 million colors while the very latest motorola mobile is still a bit behind displaying 256k color .

Motorola's mobile nowadays doesn't appeal to me much

621711 2007-12-19 11:08:00 I disagree Ninjabear, the camera on my old v1075 and my fathers V3x is quite good for a phones camera!
The V3x's are cheap now, and work well with bluetooth! I used to be a Nokia fanboy through and through, but after using the Motorola stuff for about 12 months, I must admit, Im swayed... Sure, you wont get one with a 6MP camera, but thats a lil excessive, not to mention the phone will probably cost a fair bit.

Ive become quite fond of my iMate JasJam though ;)

Hmm I feel that motorola mobiles are quite frustrating because of the way the menu is layout. From Nokia mobiles you can easily find the bluetooth menu just by going to bluetooth from the main menu but for motorola it seems there's alot of steps.IF you wanted to change the ringtone its easily layout. Its under profiles and under the general settings but for Motorola it seems its hidden somewhere..

I sold alot of motorola mobiles and i feel very frustrated having to setup pxt and vodafone live. Its very frustrating to set up settings on the motorola mobiles.

Don't you find motorola's mobile a bit hard to use due to the fact their menu is very uneasy to navigate?

621713 2007-12-19 20:29:00 Nope, in fact their bluetooth is cooler than my iMate or my old Nokia, it remembers devices that its previously connected to and can find them to send files to even if discovery mode is turned off on the other device!

Its like going from Vista to XP, its all there, and in fact in the v1075 its all in the obvious places I would expect. You go Menu --> Communications --> Bluetooth

Same for changing ringtone, Menu --> Settings --> Personalize

In my iMate its Start --> Settings --> System --> Sounds

Anyways... give it half a chance and I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by the usability of it, I was :)
Cant say Ive had to setup PXTing, mine just worked OOTB, but Ive done it on my dads, wasnt difficult to get the settings "txted to me" from the vodafone website.
