622980 2007-12-19 21:51:00 John Mellencamp and Elvis Costello have both been dropped from the Mission Concert in Napier next March in favour of Tom Jones and Jimmy Barnes. They said they have become unavailible. I know that ticket sales were not all that great.

622981 2007-12-20 17:07:00 I would rather go to a free dog fight than see John (Cougar) Mellencamp. Elvis Costello is so-so, but Tom Jones is WAY past prime!

Perhaps TJ can do a Milli-Vanilli act. (Nycuk, nyuck!):xmouth:

622982 2007-12-20 19:06:00 Tom must need the money. He is a has-been and should have given up years ago. He was not that great when he was in his prime. Bantu (52)

622984 2007-12-20 22:50:00 Actually Tom Jones (It's Not Unusual), and John Cougar Mellencamp (Cherry Bomb) are quite good, it's Elvis Costello who is and always has been a little turd. zqwerty (97)

Yes, I would rather see his wife perform here. (Diane Krall)

We live about 2 minutes walk to the Mission and if we don't attend the show, we walk around there and have a cheap listen from the roadside. Along with heaps of others. Haven't been for a while. Since the new promoters took over 4 or 5 years ago, none of the performers have appealed to us. As usual there is a huge quantity of pissheads there who sometimes spoil it for others at the concert, and on their way out to their cars, chuck all their crap on the surrounding streets.

Good for the town they say?
