| 622675 | 2007-12-19 02:15:00 | Extreme gaming just got a whole lot better. NVIDIA® Corporation has extended its SLI technology, which enables the use of multiple graphics processing units (GPUs) on a single computer, allowing up to three GeForce® graphics cards to be used in a single machine. Now hot, new, graphics-intensive titles, such as Call of Duty 4, Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and Unreal Tournament 3, can be played at the highest resolution possible, with all the graphics settings cranked to the max, and antialiasing applied for the first time. NVIDIAs new 3-way SLI delivers up to a 2.8x performance increase over a single GPU system, giving high-end gamers 60 frames per second at resolutions as high as 2560x1600 and with 8x antialiasing. 3-way SLI technology means you no longer have to dial back the image quality settings on the newest PC games. For example, gamers with 3-way SLI can play Crysis at high resolutions such as 1920x1200 with all the advanced DirectX 10 effects such as motion blur, ambient occlusion, and soft shadows turned on. www.nvidia.com www.guru3d.com |

| 622681 | 2007-12-19 09:56:00 | 1. Need a decent powerful psu first. 2. May have to buy a better case as well, for better air flow,more/better case fans. 3. Puts out alot of heat. 4. Power bill will go up!!! 5. Cost to much for 3 top end cards. 6. Computer parts get out dated very quickly. 7. The next generation of cards will beat what you have spent money on at a cheaper price. 8. Harder to sell 3 cards then to sell 1 card when its time to upgrade again. 9. May not notice much of a differance from 2 cards to warrent buying a 3rd card. 10. May not work on all games. 11. Will it work in Linux as well when dual booting from XP/Vista? 12. For show ponies, who have more money then sense. |

| 622683 | 2007-12-19 19:53:00 | If each card in sli actually increased it by the performance of the card, it might be more interesting. E.g 1 card = 30fps 2 cards= 60fps 3 cards = 90fps 'Cept it's more like... 1 card = 30fps 2 cards= 45fps 3 cards= 50fps |
