| 781204 | 2009-06-10 09:31:00 | Has anyone here experimented with HDR photos? They look like a lot of fun. I've done a bit of reading but I'm left wondering what the best software is for this. Any tips on the best way to get started? I don't have Photoshop. |

| 781205 | 2009-06-10 09:45:00 | Looks like Radiance supports it ( And its free / open source. Altho, it looks like its more of a ray tracing program than anything else. I think paintshop also supports HDR. Cinepaint is also free (http://www.cinepaint.org/" target="_blank">www.radiance-online.org/). And its free / open source. | 781206 | 2009-06-10 11:04:00 | Thanks Speedy G That second one looked promising until I found out I'd need to boot to my Linux partition to use it. For the first one I browsed around the site a bit but I didn't see much about HDR. Qtpfsgui  sounds more like the sort of thing I'm thinking of, a utility specifically for the task. http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/ There are lots of instructions around for using Corel Photopaint, GIMP, Photoshop and such but it sounds like a lot of hard work! It doesn't have to be free, I am ok to pay for a good little utility that does a good job, I don't mind paying for a job well done. I have Photopaint so I have a good tool for doing that sort of work but a utility appeals more I'm not a pro. Photomatix seems to be the most mentioned utility out there and it has a trial, maybe I should give it a go? http://www.hdrsoft.com/ Or Qtpfsgui? I was hoping someone might have tried all the options. |
