| 622916 | 2007-12-21 11:38:00 | I see now speed fines go down demerit points goes up going up to 20Km/hr over the limit $50 down from $120 going up to 30Km/hr over the limit $100 down from $230 going over 30Km/hr flat $150 Well I hope it works they dont have much success in that area. How about once you start getting demerit points your car registration starts going up, they have your car registration when they hand out the ticket why not feed through the system, this means when you go to buy a car you have to check if it has no demerit points on it, which would devalue the price of the car. The extra car registration money they get could lower the ACC levy on those who do not have any demerit points on there car. So now you have a system, you get a speeding fine, (1) you have to pay a fine, (2) you get demerit points (3) your car registration goes up next time you renew it (3a) and the value of your car may drop because any new owner will have to pay extra for car registration next time they register it lets get the Bxxxxxxs, while we can carry on living using the roads. AND I HOPE IT STOPS THOSE PATHETICLY THOUGHT OUT LTSA ADVERTS ON TV WE GET Its up to you now to save your own life I would suggest you get yourself a horse and do not watch TV. Most advertisements would suggest that I may do or buy any product which will increase my beauty or make certain body parts bigger or better. LTSA are trying to stop people from drinking alcohol and also keep on the correct side of the road. LTSA are spending some money on advertisements which is education I hope. I try to keep my life going by driving on the left hand side of a road. Do not forget to register your horse and make sure the said horse has a WOF or COF whichever is applicable. A Clydesdale is a little more heavy than a Quarterhorse. We can all travel in the conveyance we have. |

| 622918 | 2007-12-21 12:05:00 | I hear what you are saying. I suppose it is better to blow off steam in a thread like this than do it on the road. There are some very bad drivers on the road, hence the advice given to me once. Treat every other driver on the road as an idiot and there will be fewer casualties. . It does surprise me there aren't more accidents, I wish they still had the old traffic officer system. Have a safe and happy Christmas. Cheers, Marnie My Father told me "Treat every other driver as an idiot." I never forgot that. He left out the rest of your post. What is an accident in your opinion? I would think an accident is something not done on purpose. Some results of dopey actions should be foreseen. Should this stop children from climbing a tree? Did taking a risk stop Sir Edmund on Everest? If I have a loaded gun and pull the trigger and some person dies then I have to ask myself a few questions. |

A car does not plane or is that planning? I do hope you have a very good C.V. I also suspect that you should get some other person to write your C.V. You will not need a car to make a website. |

It is true that an 'accident' is something not done on purpose . Not all motor casualties are caused by those who set out to drive without any thought for other road users . That goes for all ages and both genders . If I drive recklessly, for whatever reason, maybe tiredness, poor vehicle maintenance, or sheer inexperience and am the cause of another being injured, then I should be deemed liable . Regarding the risk taking . I wish that all children could enjoy the carefree sort of childhood that the majority of us enjoyed . Cheers, Marnie |

My sister suffered from blood noses, so my mother got a juice extractor to make carrot juice ..... and now many years later I find I am the few people who can walk into a bright room in the middle of a sunny day and not need to turn the lights on I put it down to the carrot juice, also I get my eyes tested every two years the optician says I have healthy eyes. not only that if you do a google search on carrot juice you will see they claim it helps reduce breast cancer. |

And I'm sure they do here too, don't they? But then I suppose the idea of having a 'law' in this case is simply to spell it out and create publicity in order to make it socially unacceptable. It's very hard to police. I do shudder at the number of people I see txting at the wheel. There seem to be a hell of alot of young women doing it. |
