As for mp4, you might be thinking of the DRM'd files from the iTunes store, but you dont have to buy those.

Thanks - i am much clear now - as i had said i have been living under rocks n never used IPod

622649 2007-12-24 03:44:00 Just Went and bought IPod Nano 8G for US$200 and its the coooolest gadget i have ever had. I was thinking of getting Itouch or Classic but they were too bulky

IPod Nano is tiny as n so sleeek lookin !! Smaller then a credit card !!! Slips into my jeans pocket n sits there like i have nothing in it! Now i know why Apple is soo sleek n coool. Theres so many players on the market but Apple is in a class of their own!!

622650 2007-12-24 04:25:00 i forgot to ask that when importing songs which format is the best to use:
Currently its using AAC.

Also avilable are: AIF Encoder, WAV Encoder, Apple Loseless Encoder

Which one is close to CD quality sound or 'better' ?

Also can someone recommended quality ear phones. The one i got with Ipod is Crapppp ergonomic wise!
It kinda hurts my ear n feels like metal rod when adjusting it. I prefer something more comfy and fits nicely so that i can hear properly.

622651 2007-12-24 05:28:00 For some nice ear phones try the Sennheiser cx300 or similar. I have had mine since last xmas and love them. They are in ear earphones, so they take a bit of getting used to. noone (22)
