No more spending on health its gone up a lot over the last few years and nothing seems to change. I think its all going on pen pushers (mouse wielders) and fixing up losers - fat slobs, drunks, and drug users and smokers. I am sick of that condescending @#$%# Michael Cullen who talks down to us, says we can't afford tax cuts for 8 years when clearly we can, says we have to keep having the highest interest rates in the developed world, and says we have to accept our low wages and that we should stay here to enjoy his good management. I'd rather pay less or be gauranteed to be looked after when in need than have a few extra bucks at the end of the day. Maybe cuts in dentistry prices too :xmouth: Little tax cuts still mean nothing when you have to dish out hundreds or thousands of dollars for when your body starts crapping out. |

Surely your lifestyle is lavish enough? Another $15 would put you in the top tax bracket. You would go mad and spend it on luxuries such as food for the children and a second dress for the wife. Oh joy! I'm so happy! And if you are one of those silly people who want a specialist, etc, on the public health system, then you are dreaming. Purchase health insurance and worry no more. Worth every penny. A better idea, I think, is cut the tax on petrol. That would benefit ALL the economy. That would affect EVERYONE. Prices may not drop but surely they would stabilise for a wee while. Has to be good. |

The health system doesnt have enough money, nurses are still really underpaid, facilities arent big enough for all the sick people . I guess you are right Bletch - doctors/surgeons are overpaid, but nurses get the short deal for the work they do . Public Schools can never have enough funding IMO . One thing I've always felt though my adult life is the lack of being looked after by the system - I feel as a working tax payer I should have more benefits over people who arent |

Discrimination/favouritism!! Obviously not a Labour supporter, Enigmur. But I would tend to agree, however you must remember: "Taxation is rarely used for the benefit of the taxed". Sad but true. |

But didn't I hear a report of someone in the Dept of Justice say, just a few days ago, that "prisoners don't go to prison to be punished"?? No wonder they keep re-offending, if the people employed to manage them have an attitude like that!! But this is definitely getting off-topic . . . . |
