624029 2007-12-27 08:41:00 Radars are just another gadget for people to mod their driving with. So what is the real point of having one?

To speed with a lesser chance of getting caught. maybe.

Apparently not, Couriers don't have too.
Taxi Drivers don't have to for their safety. incase a passenger on the backseat tries and strangles them. That's what a cop told me - Makes sense I suppose.

Courier drivers definitley don't have to. Not so sure about the Taxi drivers, but that sure makes sence.

624035 2007-12-28 03:08:00 AFAIK, couriers and taxi driver don't have to wear seat belt as long as they are in the course of their duties and are travelling in a 50km/h area. Years ago a courier had a "T" rego sticker which was sufficient to allow legal parking in Loading Zones and to get around the seat belt laws. Not sure what the indicator for an 'official' courier is now... johcar (6283)

(at least a few years ago) they have a rule in auckland at least that sign written commercial vehicle can park in loading zones and in other areas provided they are not blocking it, except for bus stops.

we used to regularly park on footpaths etc

624038 2007-12-29 06:58:00 Just got a speeding ticket 62 in a 50, Dam should have had my Radar on. ;) It's a very main road, 50, although that doesn't make a difference.

That's $230 I have got in fines in the last 3 days! God dam it,

Will just have to slow down, I don't really speed much these days, still enough to get caught.
