| 780844 | 2009-06-09 06:37:00 | hi there, i been trying to suss out if my a8n-vm motherboard will be a compatible with a dual core athlon. it is socket 939 from what i gather. I already have an athlon64 3200 in there. or if it can't whats the fastest chip that will run in there? oh also im not entirely sure if its just the a8n-vm or the a8n-vm csm. how can i tell? I have a firewire port on the front of my comp but no devices or ways to tell if its working? Mobo running nforce chipset cheers |

| 780847 | 2009-06-09 08:18:00 | Unless you've connected the onboard firewire to the front of the case, it wont work. According to the CPU support for the CSM, it doesnt say anything about AM2, or dual core just socket 939. This is what the CSM supports (support.asus.com) |
