625114 2007-12-27 21:54:00 has anyone bought a vodem recently and been overcharged? we have, because in the first month, when we were on the 1GB plan, we used 800MB of data and were charged about $400, when we were paying $60 a month for 1GB, and then $10 for another GB if we went over

now we face the same problem again, and are disputing the bill, because we recieved a bill for $800 of data that we never used. We asked them for an itemised bill, and were told that it would be emailed to us within 5-7 working days

a month later and we still hadn't recieved the itemised account.

So we wrote a letter, asking for the account to be closed, and an itemised bill to be sent out so that we could see where the data had been used

we recieve a letter back stating that the account had been closed and please pay. no account still

anyone think they are trying to hide something....

any thoughts?

625115 2007-12-27 23:29:00 Doesn’t surprise me with Vodafone. :groan:

They’d be one of the most Pig Ignorant companies I’ve ever dealt with.

625116 2007-12-27 23:32:00 The high fees I can relate to, the incompetence of the accounts department I can recall. Did you encounter their indifference yet? Don't expect any swiftness of response to queries or complaints regardless of the season.
They can thrive because their main competitor is Telecom.

That's what I was going to say. Threaten them with Fair Go.

Don’t threaten them with Fair Go, say to them sort this out ASAP & if it’s not sorted out with in 7 working days, you will be telling Fair Go.

Vodafone has been on Fair Go twice towards the end of last season of Fair Go.

Do you have any idea how long 7 working days for these cretins would take - in calendar months?

One issue reported on fairgo was also due to data usage, albit on mobile phones . I think it was due to a quota system which vodafone had problems with, so they have now removed the system(instead of fixing it) . I think their billing system is stuffed anyway . They currently have problems billing for data usage on prepaid phones, in that there is nothing blocking you using as much data as you want in a day, even though it is a prepay phone .

625122 2007-12-28 20:37:00 3 gig Vodem customer here.
Yes they are totally incompetent, Yes they often charge casual rates for internet access as well as the account.

They do charge a month in advance.
They do charge a huge disconnection fee if the account is closed before the set term is up.

The account and reconnection guys are generally good ~ Access via 777.
Itemise everything on eMail via the website contact address. Keep copies.
Write down NAMES and what was said.

Expect to get cut off by learners or just incompetent call center staff, after waiting of half an hour or so, when your account comes on screen with red warning markers.

Several Major muckups on my account which did eventually get sorted out. I don't give up. :) ever...

The guys who also need a slap upside the head are the ones who threw their website together.

Have fun.

The errors that occur with Vodafone, especially the ones that have appeared on Fair Go, are totally unacceptable for such a huge global company . I suspect Fair Go will be doing a few more stories on them this year .
