I bought this TV from Trade me .

I heard the working one cost more than $4000 .

The reason why i brought it because i just want to hang on the wall for poster, etc . But i believe $81 . 00 is a reasonble price even though it doesn't work . But as you see the link the menu set and sound is working in good order . Which means i could plug a DVD player and listen to music from the lcd,etc .

Do you think it's possible to get fixed?

Don't think me as a retard .

Peace babe:waughh:

625094 2007-12-27 20:22:00 Well siller things have been brought on trade me.

Pitty its not got the extended warranty, its 5 years with that.

About getting it fixed ? well its not going to cost a bundle to find out what it would take to repair it. Call your Local Sony Service Centre (www.sony.co.nz) tell then theres no picture and ask what its going to cost to inspect it and get a repair quote. Then decide if its worth spending more money on it. Hell even if it cost $1000, still a cheaper LCD and it would be working.

Sometimes it pays to do these things, I have a customer that had a 19" LCD pack up, - No picture - out of warranty - they were going to biff it , I told them I'd see the cost of getting it repaired.
They said take it and if i could get it going I'ts mine. I sent it back to the vendors, 1 week later it returned working perfectly - all it cost me was the postage and a $20 part.

A poster would have been cheaper.

625098 2007-12-27 21:22:00 Hmmmmmmm:rolleyes: Thats actually what I tell people to do if the PC blows up out of warranty - some do and it works AMI were prepared to pay out insurance on some PC parts of mine that got damaged due to a lightning strike. Didn't claim though because of the excess made it not worthwhile. Greg (193)
625099 2007-12-28 06:14:00 what the hell could you do with $81.00? I already knew a poster would be cheaper. Most 50inch LCD screen cost over $4000! (check in the NZ website). If i can get it fix i would do it. I am also willing to spend over $1000. If it's fixable with reasonable price, why not? grahic (12930)

So whats the point of this posting then ?? - find out what it would cost to repair and then decide if its worth it.
