Life as we now know it will forever be changed . . . keep watch!

While the solstice is famous as the shortest day of the year -- and the
official start of the winter season -- the less-known perihelion marks
the point in Earth's orbit at which it is closest to the sun . This year,
perihelion occurs on January 3 at 00:00 Universal Time .

No wonder Upsidedown Land has hotter hot seasons than the Rightsideup Hemisphere .

Youse guys are gonna burn .

625169 2007-12-28 02:34:00 Fortunately we are on Daylight Saving Time, so we can save the excess and use it in winter.
It will be a bit tough on the firewood merchants next winter, but them's the breaks.

Depending on which solstice you turn up at, the mileage may vary.

And (For our bit anyway), the winters are warmer than yours, but the summers are cooler. We can't see the point in making a fuss about temperature swings when they only have to swing back in 6 months. It helps our trout get bigger too.
(The burning bit is rumoured to come from your spray-on stuff. I am sure lawyers are labouring over this resource even as we read. Works wonders for sun-screen sales too.)

Shhhh . Don't tell Helen as she believes that it's us plebs that are making things warmer and she needs to tax us more to punish us .
