| 624461 | 2007-12-25 20:18:00 | According to the manual, its got the region code on the back of it. And if u try and play another region DVD, it'll say Playback prohibited by region code. Not much you can do, unless its firmware can be upgraded. You'll have to buy something, thats a multizone DVD recorder / player |

| 624463 | 2007-12-25 21:21:00 | Region coding is easy to change, really. The manuals lie. Looking through google doesn't turn up much, but all DVD players have a method to get around regional lockout, usually holding down some buttons, then entering a code. If it's part of a product family, try codes for similar models of player. | ubergeek85 (131) | ||

| 624467 | 2007-12-27 04:44:00 | If it's Sony who is also a movies studio then I suspect all their stuff will be region locked these days. Just as they did with Blu-ray. Get the Pioneer.. | paulw (1826) | ||
| 624468 | 2008-01-01 04:41:00 | All Sony DVD recorders/players sold in NZ for the last quite-a-few years play discs from all regions. If you purchased it from an authorised reseller it may have just slipped through the gaps - you should contact Sony NZ direct and they'll be able to 'fix' it for you. | joe_exception (2874) | ||
