| 781965 | 2009-06-13 06:54:00 | I have never done this and looking for some tips, initially want to use VLC since I have it installed already. I want to stream between computers so under network what protocol should I use to get a full screen view? Since from my reading if I use http it will run in a browser window and then do I need to just put in the network address of the destination computer (i.e it's IP address on my network)? :thanks |

| 781966 | 2009-06-13 07:00:00 | Just use file sharing. Share across the folder with the video's on it, then play with VLC. Make sure you increase VLC's cache value: Go to VLC preferences, check Advanced at the bottom left, go to Input / Codecs --> Access Modules --> File and increase the caching value Or you can use VLC's streaming wizard. | 781967 | 2009-06-13 07:57:00 | My version 0.0.4 doesn't have a streaming wizard, just updating to 0.9.9 now. I just want to get streaming running as looking at building a file server to store movies and music on to stream to the TV without having to use filesharing. |
