781819 2009-06-13 00:52:00 OK so my problem is when i start my dell computer with vista in does all it loading stuff gets to the log in part and it goes black you can push sticky keys and it make the noise.so i formatted my hdd and installed vista again and now it logs in in but it has hundreds of errors saying missing files and explorere.exe doesn't show up.

i think this might be my hdd i just want to check before i spend a $100 on a new one. and i cant do chkdsk /r because it says i need escavted privaleges even though I'm the owner/admin account.

Firstly-are you saying that straight after a fresh install there were all these errors?
What are they? Ctrl+C when the error pops up, should copy the message to the clipboard then paste here

And if you performed a full format and not a quick format it should have checked for bad sectors already.

And try running command prompt as administrator.
Start Menu>cmd>right click>run as admin.
