781581 2009-06-11 23:28:00 Hi all

I am a complete novice re this thread. I have been using Windows Movie Maker (importing .jpg and .mp3 files) to make a small movie. I saved the file in .avi format as suggested in www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/savetodvd.mspx

The movie played as it should in Windows Media Player. I then burned the .avi file (using the data option) to DVD which also plays on my computer. However, it would not play on my Panasonic DMR-EH68 DVD Recorder (grrrrr). I then found this "Sorry but Panasonic DVD players are NOT equipped to play computer files (divx, mpeg, avi). Panasonic has always made incompatible DVD players." at forums.cnet.com

So, what are my options now? Can I convert the file easily to some other format that will play? If so, what format do I convert it to using what software?

Any help will be greatly received.

Thanks

781582 2009-06-11 23:37:00 Download and install DVDFlick (http://www.dvdflick.net/).
This will convert pretty much anything into DVD format

Edit: Hmm that website may be down at the moment.

781584 2009-06-12 00:19:00 It converts it into two folders, Video_TS and Audio_TS, which is what DVD players read.

Should work, select the option to create ISO then burn it to a DVD.

Just follow DVD Flick's short online tutorial, set your settings, insert the empty dvd, click start and go for a nap. Everything will be done when you'll return.

Do you know if DVDFlick will write the file to DVD as well as converting it to a format to be able to be played on DVD?

Thanks

781588 2009-06-12 01:37:00 Plenty of people use the free popular ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/); Can't recall if DVDFlick actually has a burn function... kahawai chaser (3545)

Image burn just burns stuff-doesn't convert to a readable DVD format.
