627404 2008-01-04 02:50:00 What would be a price you would be happy to pay for a new game?
Say Box/booklet Disc X however many needed.

Do you think if the prices were lower would that also in turn lower piracy?

That argument has been around as long as there have been computer games.

And no different to AMD vs Intel, Ford vs Holden, any operating system vs any other, any religion or politics against any other.

The latest always costs more as well.

Any person will pay for whatever they need or want.

Most people do not need a game to survive.

627408 2008-01-04 04:13:00 I'm happy with a maximum of $50. NZ.

I think it would lower piracy. Not eliminate it, nothing will do that.

627410 2008-01-04 07:34:00 $50. I pay any higher only if I feel they deserve my money. qazwsxokmijn (102)
627411 2008-01-04 10:09:00 $50 maximum .

Paying $100 or sometimes $100+ for the latest console games is just plain ridiculous; they're pretty much feeding the piracy machine .

You can get the latest games (original ones too with the box + manual) for equivalent NZ$40 in most Asian countries . There are a few traders on Trademe selling imported games way below the RRP so that'll be the first place you should look .

A lot of games put technical restrictions in place so that the cheap games won't work in the cash cow countries. That doesn't stop some traders, so check up on it before buying an import.
