| 625712 | 2007-12-30 00:53:00 | Summer is here and now my lawn has started to grow little prickles. I think it's from the grass. The dog is hating it, as some prickles get stuck between his paw crevices. What can be done? |

| 625715 | 2007-12-30 01:16:00 | Hi Gaz*. Depends on what has the prickles. In a previous house we battled with Onehunga Weed - terrible stuff. There is a special spray to kill it but it must be done in the spring to stop it developing. If that's what you've got - its too late in the season to do much about it. | Scouse (83) | ||
| 625716 | 2007-12-30 01:51:00 | I also have the same problem ..... there is several types of spray out there but unfortunately the ones I looked at all said ....... needs to be sprayed before it flowers or if you spray after it will kill the weed but unfortunately the prickles will remain until next season. (mine has already begun to flower). Better to do it anyway for next time or you could just weed the area and put some grass seeds down. I have just grassed about a third of my lawn and although I was told it wouldn't work this late in the season .... 2weeks on and its outgrown my old lawn.:thumbs: | never-u-mind (6500) | ||
| 625717 | 2007-12-30 02:17:00 | Damn....sounds like it's too late huh? I'm not quite sure myself where the prickles are from....some people said certain types of grass, kikuyu or something, grow prickles during summer. The prickles are located sporadically around the lawn. |

| 625719 | 2007-12-30 02:21:00 | Kikuyu doesn't have prickles. Its Auckland - its Onehunga weed. Both of which don't exist down here, we have nice soft fluffy real grass.................. .................and stinging nettle. |
