625661 2007-12-29 17:19:00 Hi Guys
How can i connect all the tv's and computer in my home up to the one sky decoder. I know that we would all have to watch the same channel. People I have spoken to say they have it in their home but don't know how it is done. Tried buying a 'Hills 4 way splitter with 1 power pass point but the diagram on the back shows each tv with its own decoder.

Can anyone help
Cheers Craig

625662 2007-12-29 19:35:00 What you need to do is split the signal coming out of the Sky decoder.
Prett sure all the decoders have a coax output on the back which allows the decoder to be connected to a TV via the aerial socket.
You then tune in the decoder signal as you would a normal TV channel.

The way I have it setup is using a Hills antenna booster with one input and two outputs.
You may or may not need a booster but I find it helps, even if the sky signal does not need boosting it gives a stronger signal for normal TV. You may get away with just using a splitter.
The decoder has a normal TV out coax connection, I run a cable from that to the input of the booster and connect the normal TV antenna to the input as well using a VHF/UHF mixer adapter and a double adapter into the mixer as well as I have both UHF and VHF inputs.
You may only need a double adapter to connect both the sky signal and your normal TV antenna to the input.

One of the outputs from the booster goes to the TV/recorder and the other output goes back down the line to a splitter box which connects to all the other TVs in the house.

however with a 4 way splitter you really need a booster on it. there can be a catch, some boosters can't handle such high inputs. unfortunatly sue to the amount of noise those decoders put out you need to keep the signal higher than normal hence the nedd for the amp.
