| 782748 | 2009-06-16 03:52:00 | It seems that my IBM Thinkpad T30 LCD screen is faulty as when I turn it on all I see are very thin colored lines although the backlight is fine. I have tried resetting the video cable connections in the back of the screen and also the inverter but have not been able to reset the cable at the mainboard end as it seems you have to remove lots of parts to get to it. However I have an old T21 that doesn't work but I know the screen is good. Can I test the T30 with a T21 Screen? If I could then I could narrow the problem down to either video cable or screen. Thanks for any help. |

The only cost effective way of fixing it would be to find a similar laptop which has another fault, eg motherboard and start switching parts around. Prices on parts for IBM equipment makes your blood run cold. |
