| 625948 | 2007-12-31 03:10:00 | What I was implying was that I could act as a sort of "salesperson" for the online store. some online stores work that whay to start with. ie ascent is simply a front end. all goods are send from their suppliers. however they obviuosly would have suppliers tied in with contracts. you could be a seller for a company as many on trademe do. big diference here is its organised with the companys rather than someone just buying/reselling from companies unknown. wasn't it ex PcCo brown that ran the website doing one day specials, which where sent from ex china etc. look how well that went lol. |

| 625949 | 2007-12-31 03:36:00 | Auctions aren't covered by the CGA. People are under the misconception that Trademe is an auction site. Trademe is not, they do not have an auctioneers license and can not sell goods under the Auctioneering Act. They sell on behalf of their subscribers. Therefore, if an item is sold using the "buy now" and the seller is considered a commercial operator then the item does come under the Consumers Guarantees Act. The law has not been tested with the buying of an item using the auction style and is in a bit of a grey area. |

| 625952 | 2008-01-15 09:02:00 | Ascent sometimes sees the goods - ie if you pick them up from their office. When they're shipped, though, sometimes you'll even get the packing slip from their supplier :p Plod, I don't sell computers on Trade Me that I don't already have, and I certainly don't not supply parts I advertise. It's against Trade Me rules to sell products you don't have in your possession. Jason, don't do it. You will only lose money, trust me. |
