625709 2007-12-30 13:34:00 I really don't know where you guys get your prices from. I've had a good look at the pc's on sale on Trademe, most of them are brand-new custom built pcs costing way over $100. :l

(Apologies for hijacking your thread :P) I'm also in the market for a new PC mainly for gaming, my budget is around $600-$700. I already have an external DVD writer and 80GB hd which I plan on using so that should bring the cost down a bit. I don't mind using an old CRT monitor, cheap keyboard, mouse and speakers. What sort of specs should I be looking at?

625710 2007-12-30 13:37:00 I hope some of you valuers are around next time i want to sell a computer. I will be very surprised if anyone actually pays more than $250 for a 2 1/2 year old Dell.

And about the same for the other one too.

Agreed.

Rose coloured specs might be your best bet for a ~ $600 new gaming machine (Unless your game of choice is Solitaire):waughh:
