| 626678 | 2008-01-03 09:52:00 | Your post is extremely confusing. "only one of the three tv/videos gives good reception, because of the outside ariel" The main tv/video is situated in the lounge and the dual frquency connections face due southwest to the Port Hills and receive a very good signal. The other two combos are at the opposite end of the house and face north by north east. the main tv/video in the lounge has the proper aerial setup, the other two only have rabbit ears. So do I understand it correctly? Your set in the lounge works fine off the main aerial/s. The 2 in the bedrooms work poorly off bunny ears?. If so all you need is a 3 way spliter and some good quality coax cable. Split the main antenna and drop a cable to each of the bedroom sets. Problem solved. If reception is a little weak on the bedroom sets use an amplifed distribution amp. The whole job probably $150-$250 |

| 626680 | 2008-01-04 05:46:00 | now the posts are making some sence ;) 3 way split will be needed or 2x 2 way spitters. normally the 3 way split is best as you get more even signal to all the sets. however if you have small tv's in the bedroom ie 14" you can get away with useing 2x 2ways. that way the main set gets a stronger signal and the small sets get a weaker signal which they will most likly give an ok picture from. |

| 626681 | 2008-01-04 07:29:00 | BillyTIf the signal wasn't very strong to start with the rabbit ears will be hopeless under a steel roof . I assume that the TV linked to the external antenna is still ok . If it is not then the roof may be between it and the station . If it points into the roof, that's the problem, if it points away it should be OK but check the district average for aerial direction and if yours is different, copy them . External antena put up by pro . and faces Sugar Loaf on the Port Hills . TV3 on the two b/room sets comes through very wellon rabbit ears, clear as . BillyTDepending on the age of your antenna system you may need an upgrade with more gain, more height or a low loss cable feeder to effect any improvement . Are we talking VHF problems (TV1/2/3), UHF problems Prime/C4/Maori etc, or both? There were no problems receiving both VHF/UHF stations with the rabbits, in ChCh . TV1/2/3/C4/Shine/Prime/CTV/TrackSide and even some other local advtg . stations . Cheers 2 Billy . Lurks . |

Thanks tweak'e, replacing those 100 odd tiles would have have saved all this fuss, but then there is still FreeView to make adj. for. Lurks. |
