The last one is the best.

I believe that the last one is the origin of the "wake" in Ireland. The family would have a raucous get together for some time prior to the funeral service and burial just in case the corpse wasn't really a corpse after all... It would give the "corpse" time to wake up.

Big difference then between the English and the Irish - the English invent the boring method of tying a bell to the corpse and then bury them, whereas the Irish have an damned good hoolie (sp?). I know which method I prefer!
