628606 2008-01-09 03:07:00 I never checked before, have to say I'm horrified at Gores robber pricing:

Green Room Café, Main St, Gore $9 an hour

Gore Library, Norfolk St $8 an hour

Tuatara Backpackers 30 - 32 Dee St Invercargill $5 an hour

Comzone . net 45 Dee St Invercargill $5 an hour

Internet Outpost 27 Shotover St Queenstown $5 . 50 an hour

Internet Depot 26 Shotover St Queenstown $4 an hour

ecafe 50 Shotover St Queenstown $4 an hour

Rhythm Cyber Café 427 Grt Nth Rd Hsn Auckland $3 an hour

Anyone know any nearer Gore thats better priced? (not counting Invercargill)

628607 2008-01-09 03:11:00 I don't know of anything better, as I don't live a hole. Just kidding. Motueka is a bad as Gore. Well not at this time of year, but every month apart from December and January it is. :p Depends on what you like. Nothing wrong with Gore.

I find $4 an hour is normal around the Nelson region. In Motueka there are about 5 internet cafes and all charge the equlivant of $4 an hour I believe.

Well, to be fair, it would cost you more than $8 to see a 2-hour movie

628611 2008-01-09 06:15:00 Internet Cafes are expensive in NZ and I think that mainly has to do with the price of our broadband plans.

While I was overseas the price for internet cafes varied from country to country and also location within a country.
In a small town in France it cost us 3 euro for 15 mins. That's works out to around $24 an hour!

On the other side of the coin, in Greece you could get an hour for 1 euro in places.

628612 2008-01-09 06:29:00 Prices look fine to me. Don't begrude a company for refusing to cut its own throat. Metla (12)
628613 2008-01-09 06:42:00 It's probably due to population size. Auckland = 2 million was it? Gore? I'm not sure, but certainly not anywhere near that. qazwsxokmijn (102)
628614 2008-01-09 07:02:00 Ouch those prices are harsh. Battlelink here in Chch charges $4 for non-members and $3.50 for members (I'm on $2.50 for being a loyal member for 2 years :P). There are a lot of cheaper net cafes around however the computers are often garage sale trash machines. jason_f90 (3544)
628615 2008-01-09 07:30:00 I run one internet computer for the public and it's always been $2 a half hour. When i started it (6 yrs ago) local council people said it was too cheap. I still don't think it's too cheap. Gotta be cheap or the system simply won't float, people will text instead. :2cents: mark c (247)
