627869 2008-01-06 20:57:00 I have managed to scratch my Eftpos card and it now causes problems for me. The money machines seem to accept it OK but every shop I have been in this last week has been forced to wrap the card in a plastic bag or similar to get it to work.
My bank are arranging a new one but as it is New Year and lots of staff are on holiday plus the Christmas rush - it will be several weeks before I get the new one.
I need it. Can anybody give me good advice about possible treatment I can give the card (I thought of metal polish!)

627872 2008-01-06 23:01:00 I find the several weeks they say a bit hard to take.
Not so long ago I had the embarrassment of using my eftpos card that was just past expiry date. I didn't even think to check, as the cards seem to last for ages. The bank weren't entirely blameless, as they had failed to add both of our initials to their system when a change of address was requested.
A quick trip to the nearest branch of our bank solved the problem, they provided a new card on the spot.

Cheers,
Marnie

627873 2008-01-06 23:43:00 several weeks? what?

when my card snapped completely (im with westpac) a few weeks ago (before xmas) i just went to the Westpac branch in invercargill and told them i needed a new one - once i was confirmed the owner of the card they got a new card - put it in the stamping machine and got me to sign it - i was there maybe 15 minutes (waiting for 10 min) and had a new card and card holder

several weeks is just weird - what bank is it?

This trick is probably the most common Thomas. And it generally works.
