783700 2009-06-19 13:12:00 Have client with 2 PC home network. XP Home and Vista.

XP Home had a hard drive failure a few months ago so I managed to get an image of the drive onto the new drive with some damaged files. I did a repair install and had to reinstall Office and IE 7 but most other stuff was OK.

Files can share OK but I setup a backup using Sync Tools and discovered a permissions issue I can't resolve.

Can do the normal file transfer etc from XP to Vista OK.

From Vista to XP I can create, read and list directory's. I can create a txt file in the share OK but if I try to change the name of it I get error say the path cannot be found do I want to create. Click Yes and this goes round in circles.

I have done a permissions reset on XP and recreated the shares.

Ideas??

783701 2009-06-19 13:27:00 Try opening control panel in Vista and disabling offline files.

If that doesn't work try this:

Open Regedit, browse to this key:

HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/services/csc/parameters

Then within the parameters key, create a DWORD Value named FormatDatabase with a value of 1 (hex).

Reboot.

Create a system restore point first
