He was an adventurer who managed to be the first to climb mt everest, a great personal goal. He has help the people of nepal to build schools through his charity. But lets stop and think, He was a nice man, who, yes was the first to climb everest and do some charity work. But really what has he really done to change lives around the world ? yes he was a humble man. To me the greatest NZer who ever lived was Ernest Rutherford now this is a man that changed lives. I'm ready to take the bullets. |

The way he lived and taught people will continue long even after his death, and to me, that's what makes men noble. You'll see what I mean when my children and grandchildren are told about a great man who once literally stood on top of the world and never was arrogant about it. And changed thousands of unfortunate lives for the better. |

Im pretty sure the thread was about Sir Ed, if you didnt like the guy or what ever the case maybe, common sense should have told you 'The man is dead, maybe Ill bite my tongue for a bit' and let people remember him how they liked.
