628832 2008-01-10 01:31:00 My father paid 10 grand for his Plasma, I have no doubt we get exactly the same amount of enjoyment from watching whatever crap is on TV.

Oh wait, I'm happier because I didn't spend 10 grand on a TV.:xmouth:

Though its true, he has more money then me.:D

(and some nights I just can't sleep, staring at the ceiling all night, Tormented by the refresh rate of my TV, and deeply envious of those that own a TV with a a 100 do da feature)

628837 2008-01-10 06:47:00 Crikey youse jokers, I thought this might be a sensible discussion but no........

I'm toying with upgrading to 42 plasma too and am looking at an LG 42PC7RV for $1700. LG have just introduced new models. According to Consumer, the previous LG model ranked at the top and as a brand it has good reliability.

The model I've looked at has lower definition 720 but I'm not sure whether that really matters. I'm also wondering if there will be a few more price cuts as post-Christmas spending dries up.

Bond and bond are having 10-20%off a lot of there plasmas and LCD's . And that was the reason I decided the time was right . And the fact I have given up an expensive past time
