628750 2008-01-10 05:18:00 have you told xtra about it?
Lol and endure 10 minutes of automated response, forcing me to listen to things I do not want to hear, then talk to 2-3 idiots who will not be able to help me?

I guess I can live with it. I should see it as punishment for signing up with xtra in the first place.

Thanks for trying to help Agent. :)

Yeah the automatic answer is annoying, although I find if once you get an actual person, just keep telling them that you've tried everything they suggest, and that it doesn't work, and eventually they actually do something about your problem (worked for me anyway)

628754 2008-01-10 10:08:00 Stop bashing xtra. They get bashed because of the uniquely New Zealand thing about tall poppies. That is they should be chopped off at ground level.

Its still early days of the internet and most of the problems are caused by how much bandwith you can send down a copper wire.
I am sure they are doing the best they can and remember they have shareholders who want some return on their investment.
I thought whinging in NZ was mainly an Englander immigrant thing but unfortunaly there is an increasing amount of New Zealand born people whinging as well.
Ever notice on news, programs like fairgo, union bastards, people whinging have englander accent?

They get bashed because they promise things they can't deliver.

If you run a business, and can't offer your customers something, then don't promise it.

Telecom customers are disgruntled at faults with the Xtra broadband service.

The company's help line warns customers they may have trouble connecting but says technicians are working on the problem.

Aucklander Evan Fraser says his internet has been down since 7 o'clock last night. He says he works from home using the internet and the compensation he received for the last fault just was not enough.

Evan Fraser says he will consider switching service providers if the faults continue

To knock Telecom off at ground level would involve an underground movement .

Yeah, then he'll switch to ihug and one day there'll be a fault with that too, and he'll get pissed off again, and switch to something else.

No ISP will ever be perfect, there will always be problems of some sort, it's idiots like that who generate all this bad feeling towards companies because they're too impatient and aren't realistic about the fact that things aren't going to work perfectly 100% of the time.
