628077 2008-01-07 18:08:00 I'd buy the ultimate PC, an Intel Core 2 Quad, 4GB RAM, 4x 1TB HDDs in RAID 0+1, Vista Ultimate 64-bit...

And top it off with a high-end tablet PC and a Nokia N95.

Then invest the rest of it.

628078 2008-01-07 18:17:00 Pay off my mothers mortgage, and give her a load of money.
Give my brother some.
Pay off my best friends mortgage, and give her some.

Buy my son a house.

Pay back what I owe on this shop.

Renovate my house to exactly how I'd like it and happily live on the interest thereafter.

628079 2008-01-07 18:17:00 I would go on holiday, mid march to Australia for the F1 GP and other attractions in Australia, then go over to USA and the various attractions there.

Buy a new car, 2008 Dodge Viper.

Buy a house.

And a mean PC.

Invest the rest and live off the income from that.

I will be sorted :D

628081 2008-01-07 19:25:00 A sizable donation would be given to the neo-natal unit at Wellington Hospital in recognition for what they did for my son and my family when he spent about ten days there after he was born.

We are extremely lucky to have him with us now.

628082 2008-01-07 19:29:00 I would love to be able to help my two daughters to become mortgage free - it's a great feeling - and invest a great pile to live off the interest as has been already said .

How about your children or potential grandchildren? It would be a great start for them if you put away a small $500,000 investment for them all .

I feel certain that there are many worthy charities that could do with some of that cash . You could afford to give away a few million and still do well for yourself . Perhaps you could put some out on interest for them as well .

I see there is no-one that has said anything as silly as, "I would continue working," as has been heard in other quarters . Why would you work? What for? With that amount you could do whatever you want and if you need to, call it "work . "

Robbyp: You are correct . There have been many stories of all the money disappearing after a few years . It seems they go mad - and then back to work . Take some advice on how to invest .

Don't use an investment company (where have they all gone - or more to the point, where has the money all gone?) use a bank . You're not looking for high returns . 8% sounds fine to me .

By the way, who is it among us who won that 12m? You can tell us .
