| 627772 | 2008-01-06 06:19:00 | Does the NZ Department Of Silly Walks (en.wikipedia.org) think youse guys are gonna drink it? Nope, You mash cannibis into it, Then evaporate the ISO, Your then left with an oil, That is burnt and inhaled. Can be done with a bowl and the sun, or more elaborate systems with cookers and crap to capture and recover the iso. NZ is saturated in the evil weed. Big sticky buds for everyone..... |

Can be done with a bowl and the sun, or more elaborate systems with cookers and crap to capture and recover the iso . NZ is saturated in the evil weed . Big sticky buds for everyone . . . . . Hmmm . . . in the culture in which I was associated . . . a looker, never a smoker . . . I saw a lot of things that amazed me . . this is new . I learned to drink Scotch while I was laying carpet part time . . . that story for later . . . two guys and me and a bunch of Playboy Bunnies and several bottles of very expensive Scotch . Be sure to ask sometime . I was raised and had my high school years at the same time as Haight-Ashbury got up and running good . From 1960 to 1964 (last years of public school before college) I ran a semi-pro rock band and beer party in Balboa Island ("Bal-Week") which was during Easter vacation and all the schools staggered their week off for the various districts to keep the student invasion to the "Island" as we called it to a controllable minimum . So . . I had about 4 or 5 weeks to make some serious money with "donations" at the door . . . kegs of beer and live rock bands playing 24 hours straight . I got to play a lot and stand at the entrance checking IDs for kids under 18 . You could drink on private property in Newport/Balboa if you stayed in the boundary of the sidewalks and didn't go off the immediate area . Don't know about now though . . . . . . . Ah . . . fun . But I never saw the Isopropyl trick . Sounds logical . I think drugs were simpler in the 60's too . My experiences are all stunted by the fact that I got away from the rock-n-roll culture, got serious, got married, joined the Navy and finished my education at about that same time . But I saw . . and knew of Hashish, Cocaine, Hemp, Sin Similia (SP?), Opium, and later on THC and PCP which all got heavy use and was very evident anywhere you went in SoCal . I don't smoke, poke, or puke . . but I enjoy some Scotch at times . I also play some Roadhouse rock and garage band with a group of guys . Gonna try a Doo-Wop group as soon as I can find some talent . |

Its often a watched chemical because of this. You can try and purchase this from a Paint supplies wharehouse if you want it in large quantities. But you may get some questions. cannabis oil out, bubble hash is making a come back (and with no chemicals) |

| 627776 | 2008-01-06 07:26:00 | The chemist shop isopropyl usually contains Bitrex which will induce vomiting instantly if the isopropyl is swallowed. However, the chemist shop stuff is a lot more refined than the industrial stuff (which leaves a residue after evaporation). | Deane F (8204) | ||
| 627777 | 2008-01-06 07:54:00 | When my father tried to get some cheap isopropyl alcohol for using with a cleaning CD, the chemist wouldn't sell it (not sure if they had any or not - they just said they weren't selling it because it is used in making drugs) so he had to get some overpriced stuff from Dick Smith | Greven (91) | ||
| 627778 | 2008-01-06 07:57:00 | Some whiteboard cleaners are largely isopropyl alchohol and water. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
| 627779 | 2008-01-06 08:23:00 | All Chemists in NZ sell it in small bottles. The restrictions are commonsense so if a chemist refuses to sell it to you , you may want to take a cold hard look at yourself. I use it for cleaning the recieve plate on the fax machine when it starts printing lines. Also I keep a bottle in the truck along with cotton buds to clean contacts on phone and cradle for blootooth. Things must of changed, we had 20 litre drums of the stuff to clean filters. Then throw it overboard to cries of "take this Flipper." C1 |

| 627780 | 2008-01-06 08:29:00 | Body shop supplies, printers and print consumable suppliers. What's the going rate in a chemist for the stuff? It would be awfully uneconomical to do anything with a large quantity of it at the chemist prices |

| 627781 | 2008-01-06 09:52:00 | You could always get swabs that are impregnated with isopropyl alcohol that diabetes patients and the like use before they inject themselves and are widely used in hospitals and clinics from any chemist/pharmacy. Not sure if you need liquid in a bottle but this stuff is great for cleaning CD's etc. | beeswax34 (63) | ||
