783635 2009-06-19 12:00:00 x3 for imgburn/cdburnerxp ZapperBoy10647 (11988)
783636 2009-06-19 12:18:00 used imgburn to write linux to a dvdr, changed bios to boot from cdrom but it will not recognize on boot. it goes to a screen displaying:
verifying pool data......success

then gives the option of load windows2000(which wont complete because of corrupted sys32/config/ or continue windows xp installation which stops because missing hidusb.sys
what happened to the linux cd???

783637 2009-06-19 12:27:00 Use a CDR. Linux SHOULD fit on a cd. WHERE did this XP ISO come from?? Since its an ISO?? The cd-rom youre using, its a dvd burner right? Since you've just burned that ISO to DVD. Speedy Gonzales (78)
783638 2009-06-19 12:29:00 Try burning your Linux ISO to a CD rather than a DVD. Sweep (90)
783639 2009-06-19 12:52:00 I presume you did save the change in the BIOS to boot from CD/DVD first then the Hard drive?

If you did then I can only assume the ISO is not bootable for some reason.

The fact that WinXP loaded some files when you tried it tends to indicate that the XP Cd is bootable but maybe the Linux one is not for some reason that escapes me.

783641 2009-06-19 14:26:00 Did you burn at the slowest speed?

CRC Error indicates data corruption on the kernel image...I would perform an Md5 checksum on it too...

783642 2009-06-20 02:01:00 sure did. just tried again. arg so annoying. just keep getting same error... caviliar (15021)
783643 2009-06-20 04:15:00 You probably have a corrupt download of Linux.

Download the Linux.ISO again and after you do so check the checksum with the publisher of the version you have before you burn it to another CD.

This is what the CRC problem tells me.
