627728 2008-01-06 03:42:00 I have Cable TV and a 32'' LCD screen. Using a Sony RDR-HX750 HDD recorder I notice when recording a program from "UK TV" it doesn't fill the screen, which I understand, but I also get a white dotted line half-way along the top of the picture. This doesn't happen on any other transmission. I would be interested to learn why this is happening. Can anyone enlighten me please.? Pato (2463)
627729 2008-01-06 03:55:00 The dots are the 16x9 line info. You don't usually see it, mght be an issue with your sony and the picture overscan. Are you watching in some blowup or zoom mode? apsattv (7406)

No. Just normal and I don't get it with any other channel. It is just a bit annoying.

627731 2008-01-06 04:17:00 Hi Pato. I've never seen that sort of problem. However, have you tried the various playback picture sizes mentioned on pages 109 and 110 of the manual? The 16:9 selection mention by apsattv is one of them. Scouse (83)

No I haven't looked at that but I don't want to upset playback from other channels as this UK TV is the only one giving this result. Does this mean that I may have to alter the playback picture size for just this channel.?

What sort of cables are you using? Not a solution, merely a question
