1440082 2017-10-03 02:00:00 Time for a new car, its been 10 years since I brought one so need a little help :)

Specifically recommendations to narrow down the field a bit
Anything newer than 2000 obviously newer the better
I am not splurging so no more than 15k

Wants
4 or 5 Door
Sedan or Hatch
Sporty looking
Alloy Wheels / Low Profile tyres
2.0L minimum engine size
Petrol
Chain drive (NO CAMBELTS)
Rear wheel drive
Auto preferred but manual is fine

The Little Things
Bright hallogen/Led type headlights (always had dim lights, always bothered me)
Push button ignition
parking camera
decent stereo

1440083 2017-10-03 02:07:00 The only car I can think of that meets all those requirements is a Toyota Mark X.

If you weren't worried about RWD, then a Toyota Blade would be a good option. Basically a Corolla with a Camry engine. There are even some 3.5l ones around, I expect they would go like a cut cat.

Not sure I would call a Mark X "sporty"

Apologies I didn't mean to sound ungrateful.
Just if I say that isn't my idea of sporty then it narrows it down for the next person to take a stab

1440087 2017-10-03 02:20:00 All good, only other thought would be a Fuga 350GT? Pretty much the same as a Mark X though. wratterus (105)
1440088 2017-10-03 02:35:00 Look on trademe for the Blade to get an idea and also look at Toyota Blade reviews NZ, I think you would be impressed. Bryan (147)

Shape isn't really grabbing me, I like the longer type hatches like the WRX but not these little squashed ones.
Truth be told I would much prefer a sedan.

There are sporty versions of it, not sure if they get imported here or not though. Never understood why they don't sell them new here.

RWD, Sporty, under 15K - nothing springs to mind at all. RWD is mostly in the realm of sports cars these days. Wait a few years until the price drops and get a BRZ / GT86 ?

I tried a trademe search on RWD under 15K and came up with nothing I would buy

Or you could go the euro way, but not sure why one would. Why the insistence of RWD. That narrows the options down to probably 6 cars and 3 I can think of the match your criteria miss your price range plod (107)
