1439620 2017-09-24 20:01:00 Yeah hard for any party to claim the mandate when so many simply can't be arsed. KarameaDave (15222)

Thats a bold assumption
perhaps many of those knew damn well that actually makes b8gger all long term difference if labour or Nat get into power
Once you look past left/right bias that the public still hold onto, they are both pretty much centre . Both will reneg on election promises . Both have hidden aganda's

Both were throwing spending promises around like NZ had zero national debt .
If you vote for parties that resort to bribes to get into power . . . . . .

A non vote is a valid choice . It shows that neither are up to scratch & both need to do better to pick up those votes

 Hmmmm, I don’t know if things are getting clearer or murkier????????

I’m in Aus at the moment and just saw a News Item where their Minister of Foreign Affairs, one Julie Bishop, claims she could not work with the NZ Labour Party .

I don’t fully understand what has been going on, but it seems the NZ Labour Party has been working with the Australian Labor Party to destabilise the Australian Government .

“Houston” we have a problem .

The words of my late father are ringing in my ears again: “The only bastard to ever enter Parliament with Honest Intentions was Guy Fawkes!”

1439624 2017-09-24 23:29:00 Despite all the talk of unaffordable housing, unchecked immigration and gridlocked roads, their [sic] is no mood for change in our biggest city . Or if there is, none of the other parties are doing anything to capture it .

National’s party vote held firm or increased in all but a handful of Auckland’s electorates .

The main exceptions were Mt Albert (Jacinda Ardern’s electorate) and Auckland Central, which saw one of the biggest swings to Labour in the country .

All 10 of the electorates in which support for National increased by more than 2 points were in Auckland .

Stuff .

The source, not an imperative :)

A non vote is a valid choice . It shows that neither are up to scratch & both need to do better to pick up those votes Its nothing of the sort, NO Assumption at all . The figures given were carefully worded, "Total Enrolled "

In case you didn't know its actually illegal NOT to enroll if you qualify . HERES the LAW ( . govt . nz/browse/engaging-with-government/enrol-and-vote-in-an-election/enrol-to-vote/" target="_blank">www . govt . nz) You don't have to vote . Two totally different things .

1439626 2017-09-25 01:09:00 I doubt my mum enrolls. It's against their religion to vote, can't imagine her enrolling either....

Doesn't stop her going on and on about it to me though, apparently she is a Winston fan (He dresses so nicely)
Actually I thought most of them wear suits...

Not a Jacinda fan cause she says "She had a child out of wedlock and supporst gay marriage". Uhuh....

As for not voting, last time round I didn't. Because I didn't agree with all the policies of the main parties. Not really a minor party fan.
So no why would I vote for things I don't agree with? I don't vote for people, just policies.

I don't actually mind that Winston wants to see who will implement some of his.....makes sense really that he would do that, but I wish he'd just bloody get on with it instead of dicking around gloating and being his usual dick self.
