Get all the specs for the programmed key you need in case it happens, but you will never ever lose it because your brain knows it will hurt you with $440 Your conventional key will not start the car. You could hide the original key and issue each user with a conventional key to gain access. |

They have a hand grenade of a transmission that explodes at exactly 19,662 miles . Every time . Exactly . The transmission is so tied into the three computers in the vehicle, that exactly-the-same transmission is the only option . FWIW --- many chipped keys are just a set value resister that the ECM reads to qualify the security system to either arm or sleep . BUT there ARE keys the use an RFD or RFI resonant "chip" that seeks only a correct digital harmonic to activate the ECM . I wonder though if your Bummer has a VALET KEY that is unchipped and won't allow the vehicle over 30 MPH and denies use of AC, sound system, etc, for VALET parking only . An unchipped KEY - although not your need or choice right now, is something about which to know . |

Yeah the only key I have is the original chipped key, which is the reason for this post in the first place. |
