| 1438847 | 2017-09-07 06:19:00 | At the moment it just seems very slow. I run CCleaner nia on everyday, as thats only one I can trust. All I can say, is, bring back XP. All is forgiven. I had XP from when it first come out. Went from Windows 3 to 3.1, 3.11 then 95 and finally XP..... Re the Model number -- try this. In Search type in System - Select System Information -- it should be written under Model ( or similar) Nothing wrong with W10. I've posted this MANY times on how to speed up W10. Click Start - Go upto the cog, open Settings. Click on System- Click on Notifications & Actions. Under Notification, turn ALL off Go back to the main Setting page, click on Privacy, on left scroll down, click on Background Apps. Turn ALL off. Note: any apps that need to be on will prompt you open the prompt and turn back on that one App. Reboot. To get even more speed, open the Task manager - startup Tab, turn off all the rubbish running on start up ( things not needed) You can also turn off Fast Boot under the power settings, sometimes its actually slow boot ;) Got a HP W10 here right now, slow as a wet week, took close to 4 minutes to boot to the desktop. Disabled all the crap - including crap-a-Fee ;) , changed above settings, now boots in 30 seconds. NOW to clean out the infections from rouge programs and reg cleaners (groan) that someone installed. |

If all the above is done, and its still slow, then there's really only two other causes - A Hardware problem ( HDD Mainly) OR some sort of software corruptions or to much running in the background for the amount of power available. To check the HDD - download crystal disk info ( direct download link) CrystalDiskInfo (crystalmark.info). Unzip the contents and run it, it takes a few moments, but if its a blue result then the Drive should be OK, if Yellow or red - there's a problem. As for software, bit hard with no info as to what's running or installed. :( |

Says it Blue Good and 29c. So hard drives seems okay? Mind you doesn't seem so slow today. Must be the cool weather. Its 15c in my dinning room, this morning. |

| 1438855 | 2017-09-07 22:42:00 | OK posted while I did :) Check on the updates manually as well, they sometimes can take a while and slow thing s down, esp if the computer is not on a lot /or for a reasonable time. Eg: these go on at 7am - off at 10.30-11 PM. |
