Is this a healthy system? Is this what we called 'Democracy'? Is this the system we want? Well it is a whole lot better than first past the post. I preferred STV and voted for that at the time. |

| 1439859 | 2017-09-27 02:31:00 | To cut long story short: Winston Peters chooses who will be our PM. its a pretty bad situation when put like that The 1st time (with bolger), his bottom lines were really quite good : more police etc 2nd time (labour) , he did upset our major trading partner . Not a good look with his seemingly anti-asian stance pre-election. Both times, it seemed to me that Nat/Lab both used him as a whipping boy, blaming stuff on him . He came out out it not looking too good. |

No loony parties who didnt win a single seat getting multiple MP's Only downside of FPTP was, if your local MP was truley awefull (were I live) , you're put in a spot if its his party you want in power |

A party could gain more than 50% of the vote, yet not get in because they had all their support concentrated into fewer electorates than another party. |
