1439668 2017-09-26 22:12:00 Dish washer? I never used it although there's one when we bought our house; to be more correct, we did use it a couple of times when it's new.

What's the big deal in washing the dishes manually? Probably it's the easiest job among the household chores. It takes hardly 5 ~ 10 mins after every meal.

If you can't spare 5~10 mins after every meal, don't eat, or cool at home.

1439669 2017-09-26 23:08:00 Easy 5-10 min if only non existent family. Our family dishes as teen kids would take over half an laborious hour,; my 4 sisters were constantly baking, roasting, etc creating a huge mess with their bake-ware- and we (my brothers) ate at different times. So Mother bought dishwasher. We stacked and blasted the dishes, trays, pans, etc, most nights for over 2 years. kahawai chaser (3545)

1439671 2017-09-27 00:06:00 You got to set the rules right... SWMBO and I do about half and half the cooking. Whoever cooks doesn't have to do the dishes. Usually we have water in the sink and clean cooking utensils as we go. I make it easy for her and she makes it easy for me. We do the plates and cutlery in the dishwasher. They really sparkle when done. The only problem is we need double the amount of stuff, but that is good now.

I recall women washing their rings/brackets in the chem lab dishwashers where I worked. I think one bloke washed his rear car lens - a Mazda 808 I think - in a dishwasher.
