I'm wondering if the printer has been uninstalled/disabled thus making win 10 find another default ptr. Hope he can enlighten us on what is on his Printer list, one way or another.

1439259 2017-09-18 22:13:00 The easiest way to save a snip, is once you have the area drawn out, click file/save as or the save Icon and then post that picture.

This is a little blurry, as I had to use a different screen capture to capture the snipping window.:

1439260 2017-09-19 08:18:00 Sorry to be a bit slow with this problem I have had a really bad day with grief. You never know when it is going to strike.

The picture on tje Printer screen says it is Copy 1. I dont know where that came from. I don't feel competent & unable to follow the advise. It seems to have happened after the last MS Update. Tomorrow I will look for the printer CD Dsd, delete the existing printer & reoad it again. Any problems doin that? Thanks. PJ

1439261 2017-09-19 09:25:00 Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Your plan will work but you still have to set your printer to be the default. I am concerned you earlier said you could not find the Manage button to enable you to set the default.

You could set the copy 1 to default and it would work.

Depending on what view you are in will depend on what you see.

It will be one of the two pictures below
If Category View ( thats the default) Click View Devices and Printers OR if in Icon view click Devices and printers ( see red Arrows) -- Locate your normal printer - RIGHT click it Set as default - Agree to any pop up Windows asks about changes /permissions. Example picture shows one of my brothers printer, green circle white tick.

1439264 2017-09-20 07:27:00 Ok. I tried to print a nnew email tonight & it was ok. So altough both printer descriptios have (FAX) in them it has worked. Is it possoible that thhe recent Update upset something & xclicking on both printer defaults has given it a kick in the bum? JM Poppa John (284)
