| 1440525 | 2017-10-24 07:36:00 | What happened squire was immigrants were coming here to soft touch NZ getting NZ citizenship and moving to Oz. This is intolerable and had to stop. A lot of these immigrants were hopeless f***** and just become welfare beneficiaries in Oz. The flow was only one way it had to stop. I have had enough of the social engineering experiment of immigration here. The type of immigrant we want here is someone who will fit into our majority Christian religion/ atheist, non whinger, Caucasian culture.National for the last nine years has had the decisions as to whom is allowed to immigrate, allowing in what basically is low paid wages for cheaper workers . Add in foreign investors to drive up the housing prices, which only lately is starting to slow. The New government has already said they are going to put the brakes on that. So basically for any damage caused over the last nine years blame the National Government. |

| 1440526 | 2017-10-24 07:40:00 | "There are a few kiwis too, who having been in Aussie for a bit, had kids born there and then moved back here. The kids should then be evicted right?" The only difference is that the Australian Government does not accept them as Aussies, even if they are adults and never been ouit of the country in their lives, they are New Zealanders and as such, unless they apply and are accepted to be Australian Citizens (at a cost of over $A4000) they will never be Australian, they are not entitled to social welfare, they are not entitled to take advantage of a HECs loan for tertiary education, and they are not entitled to vote, and if they are convicted of an offence carrying a custodial sentence, they can be deported to New Zealand, notwithstanding that they have never lived in New Zealand, and even if they have no living family ties to New Zealand. Not only does it cost over $A4000 to go through the application process, the application will not go through unless one has either married an Aussie or has an occupation that falls into the needed skills list. People who have illegally entered Australia from a Muslim country courtesy of "people smugglers" have more rights once cleared from immigration detention than the children of Kiwis born in Australia. Aussies who settle in New Zealand without taking up New Zealand citizenship have far more rights in New Zealand, than New Zealanders have in Australia under the same circumstances. . This came about because Helen Clarke, refused to harmonise New Zealand citizenship criteria with that of Australia, as invited to do so by John Howard. Howard stated that he was not prepared to accept a situation where a person who would not qualify to obtain permanent residency in Australia could move to New Zealand, get NZ citizenship relatively easily, and then enter Australia and automatically qualify for Australian citizenship, which was the case at that time. Absolutely correct Ken. I'm rather hoping that our new PM and Foreign Affairs Minister can sort this impasse out in true ANZAC spirit. :) |

I think that Jacinda and Winston can fix it, and that sure wouldn't do their cause any harm. ;) |

| 1440528 | 2017-10-24 08:04:00 | You could say the problem was exacerbated even initiated, by Jim Bolger declaring New Zealand to be part of Asia in 1991...........a declaration which basically seems to have come true :clap | Terry Porritt (14) | ||

And in a wonderful bout of coincidence, many are also those who drive people-movers. |

Yep National hasn't changed some things, obviously because it suited their needs, Labor/NZ first will be the same. Whats quite interesting is to see what is implemented from Campaign promises -------- it would be a total shock if ANY party actually did everything they promised. ;) |

A classic explanation in my book, :) 8364 |
