Many people who say they are going to do something if {insert happening} Never actually do it. Wonder how many people actually left USA because trump got in when they said they would ? Bit like some people, ask them a question and they answer with something completely different to the topic, that's when I like saying "that's not what I asked" :) |

| 1440496 | 2017-10-22 19:23:00 | what we need is a far right party that is not scared to deport anyone not born here for any reason at all. So that's where you draw the line then? It's OK for you, for instance, to stay, as your grandparents, great parents, whoever...immigrated here earlier. Anyone immigrating recently is out. Or is it colour? In which case you prefer to evict the original inhabitants instead as well as any newly arrived people with darker skin. There are a few kiwis too, who having been in Aussie for a bit, had kids born there and then moved back here. The kids should then be evicted right? My dad wasn't born here. He was born in the UK. My mum wasn't born here. She was born in Hungary. |

Forgetting of course that Prefects wife is Asian and that every single person including Maori is the descendant of an immigrant as NZ has never had a true indigenous population |

| 1440500 | 2017-10-22 20:26:00 | The pusillanimous spirit of the neo-right as opposed to the generosity and open nature of the previous working class generations of New Zealanders which originally built and made this country a great place to move to, live in, and grow up. | zqwerty (97) | ||
| 1440501 | 2017-10-22 21:50:00 | Even National sensed, in a feeble, half-hearted sort of way, the growing mood in the populace against the last 33 years of neoliberalism, as witness their manifesto which started to take a step albeit tiny, towards a social conscience . . national . org . nz/policies:" target="_blank">www . national . org . nz Cheap GP visits for 600,000 more low income New Zealanders Increasing elective surgeries to 200,000 a year National to increase support for first home buyers $680 lift in Superannuation on 1 April 2018 National supporting New Zealand families we are providing more support to families that need it . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and so on . . . . all good commie sort of stuff :clap Having to propose these policies now after 9 years in power demonstrates how the neo-lib way has failed so miserably for such a large section of the population . Of course these could just have been ephemeral election bribes rather than any true change of heart :banana |

| 1440502 | 2017-10-22 22:05:00 | The problem we have in NZ is not the few extremists to the Left or Right, but the quality of the candidates as a whole. Of the 120 politicians we have in total, I doubt there would be 20 that could run a small business let alone a Country. Im sure Im not the only one who sees it that way, which probably explains why so many cant be bothered voting for any of them. Unfortunately, it seems to be a Global Problem when you take time to look at other countries as well. :( |
