1440321 2017-10-08 19:44:00 There must be a lot of money in building retirement villages. They're going up all over the place and they are being advertised on the radio all the time.

Ryman are building a very large complex in Campbell Rd, One Tree Hill, Auckland, just down the hill on the site of the demolished hotel. They look to be apartments. There certainly will be many retirees living there. It's just another village to add to the 31 villages they already own. Someone's becoming rich from all these old people.

Yes, it could be you if you buy shares in one of the big operators.

1440326 2017-10-08 23:26:00 Such a rip off if you decide to obtain one of their self contained houses. You are expected to buy the house at their price and sign up in such a way that if you sell for any reason you can only sell to the complex owner at what they decide is the current market value. Additionally, at your cost, the house must be internally redecorated whether it needs it or not. A very costly business to the oldie or the estate to pay for. Bryan (147)

Probably cheaper to go Cruising year round if you can get past the insurance requirements

Yes, pity the poor old sods who can't afford such luxuries.

In Otaki, going down Mill Road, you turn left for the playcentre, right for the cemetery, or straight if you want to go to the pub
