630981 2008-01-16 09:50:00 Anyone going? I went last year and loved it.

Was thinking of going this weekend but I hear there's a fuss about taking food and beverages into the venue this year.

Second that.

Being a part time Hamilton resident i have seen all the planning that has gone into this event, it's going to be huge!

One thing i don't understand is the publicity of the two events. The V8's will have bigger crowds, bigger impact on the economy and draw a bigger international audience and yet it doesn't seem to be as big compared to the A1 in terms on publicity and media reporting.

Same. Especially since I drive on the track almost every day!

With the A1 - I really don't fancy queuing up with hordes of people to buy crap food and drink when I can't bring my own. It's too long a day and seems a ridiculous restriction for a large, outdoors venue. What are they thinking (other than trying to get you to spend more)?

630985 2008-01-16 10:17:00 Lets see, Ones an Aussie series featuring Taxi's.

The other is an International event with real race cars.

I can see why the buzz is for the A1GP.

Couldn't agree more.
The V8s are basicly glorified stockcars and they are driven as such.
