| 630758 | 2008-01-16 08:18:00 | Dear all, Firstly I must apologize for not following up with this thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) for the past few days due to the hectic of my schedule (I am taking my Restricted license soon, wish me luck!). Based on the poll result, since at least 15 members find the idea interesting, I shall expand it further (I know I have said this earlier in the above thread, but I believe some members had missed it) A few things that I am interested to know: 1) Suggestions of eatery places (Auckland CBD preferred?) 2) Times and Days you are available 3) Budget of spending If we can decide on a location and time, I am going to make a list of members who can make it. After that, I will PM it to those who have agreed to come. If you see someone that you dislike has agreed to come, you can choose to opt out. Metla had earlier suggested (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) to pop to a park and have a BBQ meetup there. Is that a fine idea with you guys? Originally when I thought of this idea, I was thinking of meeting up at a restaurant somewhere in Auckland CBD. I also thought that lunch seems to be more convenient with most people as oppose to a dinner. What do you think of this (www.lonestar.co.nz)? I am free from 12pm onwards on next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Cheers :) |

There's a great Indian restaurant called Saffron in Ponsonby that does a great Indian buffet, unlimited on the weekends and maybe Friday all for $10. Very nice:D | beeswax34 (63) | ||

| 630766 | 2008-01-18 14:24:00 | Geez you Aucklanders are a slow lot. Jamuz has made the effort to organise a meeting & Greg has suggested a good place that fits in with a variety of food choices. So why don't you just decide a time & do it? If 2 people turn up, that's enough for a conversation. If 20 people come, so much the better. (If 200 arrive, you may have to rethink future meeting plans, but deal with that if it happens...) Nobody says it has to be perfect. Call it a starter. But considering how many of you there are in a comparatively small space compared with us South Islanders, we think you're practically neighbours. |
