Is it just me, or is focussing on a super-thin laptop less productive than other things? I mean, apart from weight, is it Apples way of thumbing their noses at other manu’s?

630372 2008-01-15 07:36:00 Yeah, I was like "holy crap" when I first saw those, but most places it's posted call Photoshop (as usual). Whether those are real or not, there's definitely going to be one presented at Macworld called Air ("There's something in the Air", ooh...).

Besides, when you remove the optical drive and use SSD for storage (as with many high-end UMPCs), the skies the limit for form-factor really. Look at the OLPC, its mobo is behind the screen FGS.

One thing I did notice is in those pics its running 10.4 (Tiger) and not Leopard (kinda like running XP on a Microsoft Surface box I suppose).

630373 2008-01-15 18:31:00 It really is thin.
3 lbs., 0.16"-.76" thickness, 13.3" fullsize display, fullsize keyboard (backlit)
Some other interesting things there as well, not just for Mac people.

630374 2008-01-15 20:14:00 Ah, I see it still has an HDD (SDD optional) which in of itself is pretty impressive, but at a steep $3000/$5000 (store.apple.decenturl.com) (NZD), considering specs, not for everyone. sal (67)

We don't know the NZ price but US $1800 converts to NZ $2300
Where did you get $5000 from.
